Every day, Kenyan musicians, authors, filmmakers, photographers, software developers and other creators produce original works that carry real economic value. As the country’s creative and digital economy grows, so does the need for creators to understand how their work is legally protected, and how to prove ownership when it matters most – whether in a business negotiation, a licensing deal or a dispute over stolen content. The Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) is the Government agency established under the Copyright Act, 2001 to administer and enforce copyright and related rights in Kenya.
